Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders have been named ExCel London's nominated charity for 2006.
Chief Executive, Jamie Buchan, said, "They are a hugely talented group of kids with a dedicated and committed coaching team behind them. It is a great example of how a local drop-in centre has changed children's lives and given them tremendous opportunities, confidence and skills that are invaluable."

The Ascension Eagles have entertained 170 million and won more than 250 trophies in their 10-year history. Top honours have included performing as the official cheerleaders at the FA Cup FInal, the UEFA Supercup in Monaco, the London Marathon and aiding London's successful 2012 Olympics bid entertaining the International Olympic Committee during their 2005 visit.

The partnership with ExCel London has delighted Shara Brice, MBE who said, "We are a local group with a national and international reputation, and our partnership with ExCel London could open doors of opportunity for our young people and their families. As we celebrate our 10th year, and prepare to represent our community and country at the Cheerleading World Championships, ExCel London's backing is wonderful encouragement."
