Our Achievements

Ascension Eagles have won many awards and accomplished a number of achievements over the years, and here are some of the highlights:

 

  • 2012: AEC chosen to coordinate cheerleading for London 2012 Olympics. AEC Legacy placed 5th overall in Nation's Cup and won first bid worldwide for 2013 Worlds, as well as first international bid for The Majors.

  • 2010: AEC Legacy team ranked 6th best in world; defended British title for 12th successive year; 3rd overall Nation’s Cup, Cheerleading World Championships

  • 2009: Won European Gold at ICU Open, Paris

  • 2008: Olympic torch performers at O2 Arena. Made 3rd appearance at Cheerleading World Championships. Perform at UEFA Cup Final and FA Cup Final.

  • 2007: Perform NFL Wembley and FA Cup Final. Beat Team USA! Won Champion Competition USA. First All-Girl team at Cheerleading Worlds.

  • 2006: First ever team to represent England at Cheerleading World Championships, finishing 12th . Won COA Ultimate Nationals USA.

  • 2005: Served as ambassadors as part of the London 2012 "Back the bid" campaign. Perform at the FA Cup Final, Cardiff. 2nd Place at CheerSport USA.

  • 2004: British ambassadors/performers in Hong Kong Parade. Guinness World Record holders.

  • 2003: Competed at CheerSport USA for first time. AEC Pee Wees won first European title.

  • 2002: Won European Bronze, Finland.

  • 2001: Represented Britain at the ICF World Championships, Japan.

  • 2000: Represented Britain for the first time at the European Championships, Slovenia. Won UCA Championships, USA.

  • 1999: Become official cheerleaders for London Knights Hockey Team.

  • 1998: Win first National Title & LWT competition to perform at the Macy’s Day Parade, USA

  • 1997: Ascension Eagles enter first National Championships in Bognor Regis. Awarded tournament ‘Spirit Stick’ (but finished last).
