It's been a busy few weeks for the Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders...
We attended back to back National Championships for Legacy Cheer and Dance, and Future Cheer. We are so proud of our athletes and the way they performed at two of the UK's biggest cheerleading events!

Future Cheer Internationals is recognised as one of the biggest cheerleading competitions in Europe! And our incredible athletes reserved their best performances for the spectacle. Five of our teams hit zero, which in cheerleading terms means they received no deductions for their performances- it's a golden chalice in cheerleading, all teams head out with the aim of hitting zero. Special mentions go to Youth 1 prep team symphony and Senior 2 team Majesty for going undefeated all season, winning 8 titles and a grand championship between them!
Our athletes were delighted with the season, with one saying their favourite part was coming together as a team and giving everything for each other on the floor.
Cheerleading is more than just learning a routine and performing for a judge every few months. Cheerleading teaches life skills like resilience, commitment, leadership and teamwork. Success can't be achieved alone. It's especially rewarding when one of our parents commented that cheerleading has been fantastic for their daughter; they're more outspoken, confident, and have a greater sense of belief. She believes that it's directly linked to improvements at school too!
It's moments like this, the family feel, and success on and off the floor that makes cheerleading so special.
