Our Mission
Ascension Eagles is a youth charity based in Newham, east London. It was established in 1996 with the aim of providing a safe, healthy activity to keep young people off the streets and out of trouble.
More than twenty five years later, those social drivers might have changed, but our mission is more important than ever.
To inspire young people to reach their full potential
We have built a supportive community which encourages young people to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives, regardless of their ability, background or circumstances.

We provide them with fun, healthy activities which develop their confidence and self-belief. Everything we do is about helping young people to develop life skills and values which will help them to be the best they can be.

It’s the combination of our holistic approach – looking at the young person as a whole, not simply as an athlete – and our focus on building young peoples’ transferable life skills which make a real difference to those we serve.
Our Journey

Ascension Eagles began as a grassroots outreach programme of the Ascension Church Centre based in the east London Borough of Newham.
​
In 2010 we opened London’s first cheer gym, called Talent Central, at Gallions Reach Shopping Park in Newham, east London.
​
Since then, our teams consistently come top in competitions and we are acknowledged to be one of the UK’s most successful youth cheer initiatives.
Despite the countless trophies and incredible achievements over the years, the commitment of AEC to the young people it serves remains unchanged.
AEC has now served young people in east London constantly for over a quarter of a century, reaching over 100 children in every one of those years.
