What we do

Our young people are part of a supportive community which encourages them to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives, regardless of their ability, background or circumstances.

We provide them with fun, healthy activities which help them develop life skills and values. Sport is the vehicle we use to help them make new friendships, discover their own skills and create opportunities which help to broaden their horizons.

Typically, each year, we have over 100 athletes in the recreational and competitive programmes we run at our gym, which is called "Talent Central".

We also reach over 250 children weekly through our schools’ outreach programme, in addition to the hundreds of athletes every year who use our facility for private hire and drop-in sessions, including England’s National Cheerleading Team.

Why we are different

It’s the combination of our holistic approach in our fully inclusive programme – looking at the young person as a whole, not simply as an athlete – and our focus on building young peoples’ transferable life skills which make a real difference to those we serve.

And the service we provide is needed now, more than ever.

Your support helps us to:

  • subsidise our membership fees by 40%* to enable more young people in our community to participate

  • provide a bursary towards membership fees for those with financial hardship

  • pay the entry fees for our competition teams

  • travel and compete in international competitions, giving our athletes valuable life experiences they wouldn't otherwise get

  • provide our additional activities such as our Junior Leadership programme, academic mentoring and external speakers.

Our new home

In January 2024 we moved to a new location, close to our previous home in Newham. This relocation creates opportunities for us to develop and grow.

Having more space means we will be able to provide additional 'wrap-around' support for existing athletes, and the proximity to residential developments and local schools will help us to reach even more young people in the borough and surrounding areas.

New opportunities - with your support

Although we have carefully built up our financial reserves over recent years and diversified our income streams to fund this transition, we know that these exciting opportunities to reach even more young people and to offer more services will involve additional costs.

So we need your support to ensure we can make the most of these opportunities, cover the on-going costs of our new gym and to ensure our high quality programmes are affordable for all of Newham's young people.
